This is an outstanding trekking area in the eastern region of Nepal which offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed beauty and ecological diversity. The trail takes you from the lowlands of Tumlingtar on the Arun River, through one of the least frequented areas of Nepal, to the base camp of Makalu (8475 m). The trail follows the beautiful Barun river valley in the Makalu Base Camp (5000m), from here views of the south face of Makalu, as well as Everest and Lhotse are truly spectacular. The Arun valley is also a home of rare species of various birds which are now only found in Nepal.

: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

Kathmandu Sightseeing and trek preparation

Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (50 minutes flight) to Chichila (4-5 hrs bus ride) to Deurali (2-3 hrs hike)

Day 4
Deurali to Num (1500m) 5-6 hrs

Day 5
Num to Seduwa (1540m) 5-6 hrs

Day 6
Seduwa to Tashigaon 5-6 hrs

Day 7
Tashigaon to Khongma (3560m) 5-6 hrs

Day 8
Khongma to Mumbuk (3550m) 5-6 hrs

Day 9
Mumbuk to Yangle Kharka (3600m) 5-6 hrs

Day 10
Yangle Kharka to to Langmale (Yak Kharka) 4400m 5-6 hrs

Day 11
Langmale to Makalu Base Camp (5000 meters) 5-6 hrs

Acclimatization day
